In this session, participants will explore the benefits of using AAC in the classroom and discover strategies SLPs can use to support classroom collaboration. They will learn to identify three key challenges in AAC implementation and ways to overcome them, gaining insights into what special education teachers want SLPs to know to enhance AAC use in their classrooms.

Presenter Biography: Anne is a speech-language pathologist who helps those who are struggling to serve non-speaking children—like SLPs, parents, and teachers—confidently give our kids a true voice. Through Anne’s AAC courses, online membership, group coaching, and digital products, she provides guidance, inspiration, and advocacy for an effective child-centered total communication approach. Anne is an ASHA certified speech language pathologist with a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University. She is an award-winning blogger. She previously worked as a speech therapist for a Title I school for the past 18 years where she served as the Assistive Technology Lead serving 19 schools in Phoenix.
