In this session, participants will explore how moving from a fluency-focused to a communication-centered approach in stuttering therapy enhances client outcomes. They will review contemporary frameworks, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and stutter-affirming therapy, and identify specific goals and activities to support clients in building confident, meaningful communication skills.

Presenter Biography: Caroline Brinkert, MS CCC-SLP is a Speech Language and Hearing Sciences clinical faculty member at Boston University where she supervises graduate students in diagnostics and treatment, teaches Stuttering and Related Disorders, and is the Director of BU's Center for Stuttering Therapy. She also maintains a small clinical practice evaluating and treating clients across the lifespan, using holistic and stutter-affirming practices.
